California Wilderness Odyssey (broken leg) by VW Bus: February 13 -  May 27, 2003 - A wreckless and irresponsible journey of discovery, we skiied, hiked and camped in dozens of the proposed federal wilderness areas of the Senator Barbara Boxer's California Wild Heritage Act (www.californiawild.org). See photos of our harrowing adventure in Cache Creek roadless area, as Geoffrey broke his leg and was air-lifted by helicopter out of this primitive area, on the first day of spring

Alaska by Kayak: June 12 - June 25, 2001 - Revisiting College and Hariman Fjords, which Geoffrey had kayaked on in the 1980's, we joined with four of our friends for this 2-week adventure in the wilds of Alaska.

Isle of Man and Ireland by Tandem : June 30, 2000 - July 27, 2000 - We joined 25 of Geoffrey's Smith family relatives for a once-in-a-lifetime week to the Isle of Mann for the 10-year 'Manx Society Homecoming'. Then we hopped a ship to Dublin, for a remarkable tour of the Emerald Isle.
